About Sharon
I help leaders, teams, and organizations navigate complexity, build capability, and create meaningful change.
As an enterprise learning strategist, organizational effectiveness leader, and executive coach, I bring more than 20 years of experience designing learning and development solutions across healthcare, higher education, and corporate environments. My work sits at the intersection of leadership, psychology, learning, and organizational transformation—helping people and organizations adapt, grow, and perform in rapidly changing environments.
My areas of expertise include leadership development, organizational effectiveness, change management, coaching and mentoring, workforce transformation, human-centered design, culture development, systems thinking, experiential learning, team performance, and the future of work.
I hold a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies and a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.), providing a unique blend of expertise in organizational systems and human behavior. This interdisciplinary perspective allows me to design learning experiences and development strategies that are not only aligned with business goals but grounded in the science of how people learn, change, and thrive.
Throughout my career, I have led enterprise-wide initiatives supporting thousands of leaders, clinicians, educators, and professionals through periods of significant growth, transformation, and uncertainty. Whether developing leadership pipelines, designing learning ecosystems, facilitating organizational change, or coaching leaders through complex challenges, I focus on creating practical solutions that translate strategy into action.
My philosophy is simple: organizations change when people change. Sustainable transformation happens when learning is meaningful, leadership is intentional, and individuals are equipped with the confidence, clarity, and capability to move forward.
I believe learning should do more than transfer knowledge—it should expand thinking, strengthen relationships, and unlock human potential.
That is the work that inspires me every day.

with Microlearning:
Boosting Engagement and Retention
This ebook presents the importance of integrating microlearning to improve retention and overcome the forgetting curve.

Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Instructional Video
This video is an introduction to Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. This is an instructional video that I made on the topic of PTSD. This will give you an idea of my presentation skills and ability to deliver web-based training. I am very comfortable providing instruction on a variety of topics.

Storyboard Examples
These storyboards were developed for a project that I completed in 2020. A storyboard is a detailed planning document used in instructional design to visually and sequentially map out the structure, content, and flow of a learning solution before it is developed. It serves as a blueprint that aligns instructional goals, multimedia elements, and learner experience across formats such as e-learning courses, videos, job aids, and instructor-led training.

Job Aid Samples
A job aid is a practical, easy-to-use resource that provides step-by-step guidance, reference information, or reminders to help employees perform specific tasks accurately and efficiently at the point of need—without having to rely on memory or formal training.
Job aids are especially valuable in dynamic or high-complexity work environments where tasks change frequently or require precision. They reduce cognitive load, support on-the-job performance, and are often part of a broader performance support system.

Conflict Management: A Five-Part Learning Series for Leaders, Teams, and Organizations
Conflict is an inevitable part of working with other people.
Whether we are leading teams, collaborating across departments, navigating organizational change, or managing customer relationships, conflict will eventually emerge. The challenge is not eliminating conflict—it is learning how to navigate it effectively.
Unfortunately, most professionals receive little formal training on conflict management. Instead, many of us learn through trial and error, often repeating patterns that increase misunderstanding, damage relationships, and reduce organizational effectiveness.
This five-part learning series was originally developed to help leaders and employees better understand conflict, communication, and the behaviors that contribute to productive—or destructive—workplace interactions.
Throughout this series, we will explore the foundations of conflict management and provide practical tools that can be immediately applied in professional settings.

The Future of Work
Future of Work Course Introduction Video
Role: Learning Experience Designer, Instructor, and Content Developer
Tool: Canva Video
Length: 3 Minutes
This introductory video was created as the opening learning asset for a graduate-level course on the Future of Work. The purpose of the video was to establish context, generate curiosity, and frame the course through a systems-thinking lens before learners engaged with the course content.
Rather than presenting future-of-work trends as isolated topics, the video invites learners to critically examine the forces reshaping organizations, leadership, labor markets, and human work. Key themes introduced include the fissured workplace, gig economy, digitization, workforce transformation, organizational adaptation, and evolving leadership demands.
The design intentionally moves beyond information delivery to support learner engagement and cognitive framing by encouraging students to explore:
-
How systems function
-
Why organizational changes emerge
-
Who benefits from transformation
-
What trade-offs accompany innovation
-
How changes affect individuals, organizations, and society
This asset demonstrates my ability to:
-
Design learner-centered course introductions
-
Create engaging multimedia learning experiences
-
Apply systems thinking to curriculum design
-
Establish relevance and motivation early in the learning journey
-
Translate complex organizational concepts into accessible learning content
-
Develop asynchronous learning assets using rapid-development tools
Instructional Design Considerations
-
Attention and engagement through visual storytelling
-
Alignment with course learning outcomes
-
Strategic use of multimedia to support learner readiness
-
Establishment of cognitive context prior to deeper exploration
-
Adult learning principles emphasizing relevance and application
The video serves as the first touchpoint in a broader learning experience designed to help learners think more strategically, analytically, and systemically about the future of work and organizational change.
